The New Pastors and Leaders Conference, hosted in Louisville, KY, beginning on February 20 through February 22, 2023, is an evolution of the vision and work of the GA. Under the new leadership of Moderator Michael Rice and his Moderator’s cabinet, the Conference has been refashioned to align with Dr. Rice’s vision during his tenure as Moderator.
Moderator Rice has articulated his vision in the idea, “Understanding the Times.” Dr. Rice has coined the following theme, Re-evaluate, Restructure, and Resurrect The Missional Focus Of GABKY.
The 2023 Conference features a slightly different format from before, with a dynamic Guest Preacher and an exceptional Guest Lecturer. The Conference will also feature two days of classes designed to meet the needs of lay ministry leaders, preachers, and pastors.
The 2023 Pastors and Leaders Conference Guest Preacher is Rev. Dr. Tellis Chapman a gifted preacher of God’s Word and pastoral leader. The Conference’s revised vision is complemented by Guest Lecturer Rev. Dr. Samuel R. Tolbert, The esteemed President of the National Baptist Convention of America International, Inc., and Chair of the Board of Trustees for Simmons College of Kentucky.
Both Dr. Chapman and Dr. Tolbert promise to supercharge the conference with their presentations to the host of attendees.
The Conference begins Monday evening with a Banquet at the Louisville Marriott East Hotel in Louisville, KY located at 1903 Embassy Square Blvd, Louisville, KY 40299. The Tuesday and Wednesday sessions are filled with impactful courses designed to empower participants to do the work of The Church in the Present times. See the list of classes.
The Banquet sold out more than two weeks before the event. There is excitement in the air about the developments led by previous moderators and the new direction and missional focus of the present moderator’s cabinet and team.
